Responsibility for pupils

There are clear regulations about the admission of pupils to schools. Each school has a standard admission number (SAN) based on the school’s physical capacity and parents have a right to have their child admitted to the school of their choice unless the standard admission number has been reached or the school selects some or all its pupils by ability or aptitude.
