ABSTRACT
The producer is the boss. The producer picks the team, controls the budget, sees to it that the production comes in on time, and in general, makes all the key decisions relating to the progress of a production and the people working on it. Today, the credits of every television programme will name a producer, usually in bold lettering right at the end. But it wasn’t always like that.
