ABSTRACT
The above terms are tending to overlap these days, as the film and television industries are converging and as multiskilling becomes more common throughout the media. In the cinema, the person with overall responsibility for the design and look of the film might be referred to as the production designer; there might be an art director on the production as well; in a major television drama there might be somebody called the production designer working with an art director, but generally in television the set designer is the person with overall responsibility for the space in which actors or entertainers perform.
