ABSTRACT

Franz Kafka was born in Prague in 1883, and he remained there, living with his parents for the majority of the time, for most of his life. He died of tuberculosis in 1924. His family was Jewish and he was the eldest of six children: two other boys who died in infancy, and three girls, who perished under the Nazis in the early 1940s.
