ABSTRACT

YOGINN was created within the Innsbruck University’s Institute for Sports Science. Its goal is to ensure the sustainability of not only the YOG, but also the academic partnership that has been created between Innsbruck University and the 2012 YOG. Other universities are also involved in this research project, which is designed to understand various aspects of the YOG, such as the Culture and Education Program, the volunteers, youth leaders, athletes, parents, and coaches. There are also the standard IOC secondee and observer programmes found at the YOG like the Olympic Games. The information garnered from these research and practitioner activities will assist the current and future YOG Organizing Committees such as Nanjing (China) 2014 and Lillehammer (Norway) 2016, as well as the future OCOGs such as Sochi (Russia) 2014, Rio (Brazil) 2016 and PyeongChang (South Korea) 2018.
