ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the research process, through examining the impact of the interview itself on the respondent, mediated by the interviewer. The interaction between the respondent and interviewer at various stages throughout the process is the mechanism through which PND is constructed via a meaning shared and understood by both. This is defined through the way that both participants (i.e. researcher and respondent) enable the respondent to reflect upon that activity and engagement.
