ABSTRACT
What were the views of the children and young people from the special and mainstream schools after a year of link project experiences? Answering that question is the focus of this chapter. Mainstream school children were interviewed individually (Link 7 project) or in small groups of about four children (Link 11 project). (The methodology of interviewing children in groups is discussed in Lewis, 1992.) Views of special school pupils were collected through discussions with both the pupils and their teachers. These views were collected informally and no attempt has been made to quantify them. This chapter includes quotations from the special school pupils.
