ABSTRACT
I guess for me it was a double hatred thing. Not only did the PE teachers bully me for being ‘un-sporty’ … but also because I think they realised that I was never going to be the macho sort of guy they wanted to produce from that school. I got picked on because I was a very girly sort of boy and remember watching as another boy got beaten up and called a poof and a f*&^ing queer by one male PE teacher. Ah the good old days of the late 1970s! … NOT! I wonder what they’d make of me now?
