The sounds of Finnish

The basic rule for good pronunciation of Finnish is: don't rush; give all the sounds their due time and attention.

Vowels m The letters i e a 0 U Y a 0 stand for sounds which are always pronounced fairly short, but never mumbled or clipped, regardless of position. Always long are the sounds written ii ee aa 00 uu yy iia 00, i.e. the same eight letters doubled.
