ABSTRACT
Morocco is to date the only producer of Argan oil in the world. The Souss Massa Draa region represents 86 per cent of the total Argan production of Morocco (Ouraiss and Benslimane 2007). In Souss Massa Draa, the yearly production quantity is 50,000 litres of oil out of 800,000ha of Argan forest (Ouraiss 2007). Bouzemouri (2007) estimates the actual production quantity to be about 100,000 litres Argan oil per year that could be considerably increased.
