ABSTRACT

This chapter reviews commonly asked questions about response-to-intervention (RtI) implementation and discusses tips for getting started and sustaining implementation. As part of the RtI implementation process, teachers employed by St. Croix River Education District member districts attend quarterly RtI Forums to ask questions and give input into the process. The chapter provides guidance for districts that are just beginning to implement an RtI framework and for districts that are well underway with the implementation process. Consensus involves general agreement among teaching staff and general solidarity of belief that it is the job of educators to ensure that all students learn. Building an infrastructure to support and sustain the RtI framework is essential for successful implementation. Developing infrastructure involves identifying supports already in place for implementation of the framework, determining needs, designing or adopting a data management system, and creating policies and procedures to define implementation.
