ABSTRACT
The private sector is the driving agent of economic growth and wealth creation. It therefore has a major role to play in influencing progress toward sustainable development, by ensuring that economic growth does not degrade the viability of the services and resources that natural systems provide and upon which we all depend. It does this notably through addressing the adverse environmental and social impacts of industrial or other economically driven activities.
