ABSTRACT
Climate change is expected to exacerbate existing pressures over transboundary water systems — pressures that have caused environmental degradation and fomented disagreements among watercourse states over the years. However, international law can aid in preventing interstate disputes and resolving disagreements over freshwater resources before such quarrels escalate into conflict.
