ABSTRACT

At the beginning of the last chapter I argued that we can regard good exam performance as a skill-like learning to ride a bike, for example. Remember that I said (following the sound advice of one of the past Chief Examiners, John Radford) that as with any skill what you need to do to ensure success is to:

• identify the key components of the skill • rehearse and practise these • respond appropriately to feedback

In this chapter I will discuss factors which you need to practise and develop before the Big Day and those which are particularly pertinent to the exam situation itself.
