ABSTRACT
The next two chapters deal with Kohut's conceptualization of the idealized parental imago and the grandiose self, and the clinical transferences that form as these configurations come to life within the treatment setting. In addition, I will provide case material to demonstrate how one might apply these conceptualizations to the conduct of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
