ABSTRACT
A common concern voiced by people with epilepsy is that their anticonvulsant medication is affecting their memory. This is reflected in the growing interest in the impact of anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) on aspects of behaviour other than seizures. Indeed, all new AEDs are now evaluated for cognitive/behavioural side effects, and the lack of such effects is a major selling point for manufacturers.
