ABSTRACT
W. R. D. Fairbairn, the main stimulus to the thoughts in this chapter, published just one book, a collection of articles and papers written in the twenty-five years between 1927 and 1952. It has, however, two titles, one in Britain and another in the United States. The pagereferences I use come from the British edition.
