Healthcare Reform

Reform of China’s healthcare system began under the impetus of reforming the entire economic system after 1978. The reform was generated by the need for improvement given the extreme shortage of healthcare services prior to that time. In addition, the reform involved a sort of revolution in China’s way of thinking about health and healthcare systems overall.
