ABSTRACT
A professional and parent come together for the first time. They bring their own worries
and concerns, their own priorities and responsibilities. Somehow these have to be woven
together into a relationship that works for both parties. Collaboration on the same project
or issue is frequently referred to as a ‘partnership’. But how useful is the term
‘partnership’? What does it tell us about their relationship?
