We begin with some further discussion of the passage by Richard Jeffries, which we discussed at the end of Unit 5. We have, in fact, already begun to see some orchestration. We noticed two kinds of patterning in Text E. There is the frequency of be verbs, and combined with it the tendency for sentences not to have linking words such as and or when or therefore. We will now develop this line of thought a little.
