ABSTRACT
This chapter presents a case study that was also a personal journey of exploration and discovery that sought to answer the questions: what exactly is infrastructure; and what role does it play in urban society? The setting covers a broad canvass of eighteen secondary cities spread across a large area of Ethiopia – cities defined in that country by their legal administrative title of urban local government authorities (ULGAs).
