ABSTRACT
Topography is perhaps the most conspicuous component of a geoecosystem. It may be characterized by several measures including relief, aspect, slope gradient, slope curvature, slope length, and contour curvature. The influence of relief, which exerts itself chiefly through climate, was tackled in the fifth chapter. In this chapter, the influence of aspect and slopes on organisms and soils will be investigated.
