Marion and Jackie have written a series of practical books. Spirals Language Development is aimed at supporting practitioners and parents to develop the language communication and thinking skills of four-to eight-year-old children. The feedback for them nationally has been tremendously positive. Now, due to demand, they have got together again to develop a book for practitioners and parents working and living with babies and toddlers. The activities can be easily blended into the day and work well with other super language and communication initiatives that also look to establish and promote language learning-friendly environments. This book is based on 24 years’ practice for Marion as an educational psychologist with an early years and language specialism, and 23 years for Jackie as a speech and language therapist. They have authored six books in the Spirals series for schools and early years settings and parents to support effective language development. David Leah has been part of senior management in an FE college and is now an educational consultant and an experienced verifier and moderator for qualifications including NVQs at a national level.
