ABSTRACT
The case in Chapter 6 focused on product costing and pointed out the significance of the life cycle perspective when analysing product profitability. This chapter discusses a series of shorter projects focusing on the issue of life cycle costing and life cycle profitability. These projects were carried out with different organisations, and they constitute a cluster of studies contributing to the topic of long term cost and profitability management. In this chapter, the focus is on projects started after 2003. In many respects, these were still underway in 2009.
