ABSTRACT

The research presented in this chapter focuses on a group of teenagers, who relocated to Greece with their families from the former Soviet Union, principally from Georgia and Russia. They are part of a wider community of Pontian Greeks, who have their origins on the southern coastal region of the Black Sea. They speak a language variety which is called Pontian/Pontic Greek (Mackridge, 1991; Agtzidis, 1997; Anthemides, 2002).
