ABSTRACT
A flimsy unimaginative structure of glass and prefabricated concrete, the school stands on the fringes of a grey, sprawling, mining village in south Yorkshire. The community it serves has grown up over the last sixty years and contains minorities of East European and Scottish immigrants with very few black families.
