ABSTRACT
We have a lot of taped material in which pupils are discussing alone, with a teacher or with an interviewer the work they have been doing on race relations. The problem is, how to present it to the reader. To list the judgments made and the issues raised seems not to capture the context that allows the reader to pick up ambiguities and make his own judgments. There is, we think, no satisfactory way of reducing these data.
