ABSTRACT
The recent evolution in Spain’s media system has been significant and has served as a model for other countries undergoing a transition from authoritarianism to democracy. In slightly more than 30 years, the country has moved from a situation where the media, journalists, and content were controlled by the Franco dictatorship to a period of freedom and openness.
