ABSTRACT

Despite numerous studies and practical e orts to increase college completion rates, college completion or persistence rates have not changed all that much in the past 20 years (Radford, Berkner, Wheeless, & Shepherd, 2010; Tinto, 2012). At four-year institutions, approximately 63% of students will complete their degrees while approximately 40% of students at two-year colleges will graduate (Radford et al., 2010; Tinto, 2012). But, when looking at students in all kinds of institutions including community colleges, for example, only about 40% of students graduate within a six-year time period (Tinto, 2012).
