ABSTRACT

The year is 1988; the setting, a small rented room; the main character, a young woman with a month-old infant. Bundles of fabric and swatches of cloth provide colour to the otherwise dreary room. They compete for space with infant things and household basics. Keeping an eye on the sleeping baby, the woman works on the fabric with a pair of shears. She trims fabrics for her grandma’s baby clothing business.
