Introduction If you ask regional experts about where prosperity and inclusion are coming together in America, you are likely to hear stories about the pioneering work on community benefits agreements in Los Angeles, the innovative organizing to generate regionwide affordable housing in New Jersey, or the exciting efforts to link city and suburb residents around public transit issues in metro Chicago. We know the drill; we have taken exactly that approach of following the “buzz” in our own survey of social movement organizing for regional equity in metropolitan America (Pastor et al. 2009b).
