ABSTRACT

Information and communications technology (ICT) is a term that embraces more than just computers. It includes a wide range of devices that interact with a computer, for example to send information to it (using equipment such as scanners or digital cameras) or to receive information from it (for example a plotter or robot arm). It also includes items that you might not at first consider, such as broadcast television, audiotapes, mobile telephones and computer networks. To keep your life interesting, innovation in this area is so rapid that the term ICT (itself recently coined) is likely to embrace new technologies at an increasing rate.
