ABSTRACT
Now a question arises, which I endeavour to face in the present chapter, though in a superficial way and without the equipment in Hebrew scholarship necessary for adequate exploration of a problem of such importance. The question is: were there any Jews in Elizabethan England, and if there were any, what would their attitude have been to the Christian imitation of Jewish mysticism in Christian Cabala?
