ABSTRACT
In this chapter we explore socioeconomic inequalities in diet, with a particular focus on European food and nutrition policies. To find out whether there are empirical studies on the impact of universalist versus selectivist food and nutrition policies and interventions, literature searches based on Medline and Social Science Citation Index were performed. Two cases, Finland and The Netherlands, are described in terms of policies and interventions that affect socioeconomic inequalities in diet.
