ABSTRACT

The attempt to co-ordinate and achieve coherence between different national and Community policies, which is called for by the Single European Act in the name of economic and social cohesion, has as its aim the harmonious growth of the Community already envisaged in the preamble to the Treaty of Rome. The objective is to create a macroeconomic environment conducive to the equitable distribution of the increased prosperity expected as a result of the implementation of the Single Market.
