ABSTRACT
This is not simply a matter of ornament ... this quest is, in fact, curiously independent of stylistic development. It is more radical than all this; it is something resulting from a profound desire to dissolve the heavy prose of building into religious poetry; a desire to transform the heavy man-made temple into a multiple, imponderable pile of heavenly mansions.
