ABSTRACT
The Taylors live on a modern, low-rise estate in Inner London, characterised by highbanked ramps and walkways. Both parents are deaf, but have brought up a family of four children: Christopher (now 17), Karen (16), Susan (14) and Billy (12). Between them, the members of this family have had an unusual amount of contact with various professional services, not all of them perceived as helpful.
