ABSTRACT

The children are invited to click on the windows of a house which makes the lights go on. They can also hear the sound of different electrical appliances. There is a series of photographs of common objects and they have to indicate which of these need electricity to make them work. They are introduced to the concept that mains electricity comes from power stations and that batteries are also a source of electrical energy. There is a short interactive quiz to see if they know which appliances are mains or battery operated. Finally there is a section on safety: the children are shown a series of photographs and have to decide if the scenes depicted are potentially dangerous.
