ABSTRACT
Organisation research has a special contribution to make towards global sustainability. It crosses philosophical and geographical boundaries, and integrates insights and practices from different paradigms, disciplines and cultures. The potential exists for developing theories of lifelong learning as a transformative process. Study of organisation has an established tradition of drawing on other progressive disciplines, such as systems theory, which also provide useful metaphors for research processes.
