ABSTRACT
The barriers to peace, says John Hume, leader of the SDLP in Northern Ireland, are in the mind. These barriers are constructed through fear, selfishness and greed. The barriers to organisational learning are the same. Decommissioning of the weapons of political and organisational power happens first in the mind.
