ABSTRACT

Individuals in a team, or the whole team working towards the same end, work better if they have pointers or indicators in the form of checklists to ensure that all important issues are covered and nothing of importance is missed out. OFSTED inspection teams use such lists in their work in school inspections. Externally imposed checklists, however, are of less value than those generated by the groups or teams who are going to use them. The lists must be team and/or school specific and closely related to the overall intentions (the vision) of the team and the school.
