ABSTRACT

In the many myriad structures of television, there does seem to be a constantly shifting point which you can actually plug into with something that is not totally down-the-line establishment oriented. . . . It means that somewhere in there there is somebody . . . who will pick up and maintain an involvement and interest in new and exciting work. That point moved away from BBC London . . . to Pebble Mill where there was quite a lot of very good activity, including Boys From The Blackstuff, and since then Channel 4 has seemed to be where the action was.
