Wilhelm Dibelius (Charles Dickens (Leipzig, 1916), 493) attributes both this, and the article on Dickens in the London Quarterly Review, January 1871 (see No. 154), to G. Fraser. Two George Frasers are known to have been active in literary journalism around this time: which, if either, of these wrote which, if either, of the 1870–1 items cannot be ascertained.
