Reviewing Sketches by Boz (both series), Pickwick Nos. I–XV, and Bentley’s Miscellany Nos. I–VI. Buller (1806–48), one of the parliamentary radicals, later became chief Poor Law Commissioner. He was one of Carlyle’s pupils, before going to Cambridge.
