ABSTRACT

R Race and Class Formerly titled Race, this journal was first published in November 1959. Its new tide, Race and Class, adopted from October 1974, reflected a change in emphasis towards issues of racism, Third World struggles and imperialism. Published on behalf of the Institute of Race Relations by Sage publications, Race and Class: a Journal for Black and Third World Liberation is a long-running quarterly journal dedicated to intellectual and political work around the issues of race, class and identity politics. The journal is edited by A S ivanandan and Hazel Waters, both of the Institute of Race Relations, London. It is both international and multidisciplinary in its scope, covering topics such as racism, legacies of empire, popular culture, globalisation and migration. The journal has recently focused on the issue of racism in Europe as well as the issues of refugees and asylum seekers.
