ABSTRACT

Administrative studies, sometimes called business administration or organisational studies, is the academic discipline concerned with the characteristics and functioning of formal organisations. The roots of this discipline are twofold, reflecting a divide within the field between study of the behaviour of individuals in organisational contexts, or of organisations themselves within industries. Images of women have been used in advertising for over 150 years. It was the feminists in the early 1960s who first looked at the portrayal of women in advertisements and brought the whole question of their effect on social thinking into public consciousness and political perspective. Though the washing powder television advertisements of the 1990s seem to have remained the same, many advertisers responded to feminist demands and acknowledged the changing images and roles of women in society. Aesthetics and philosophy of art refer to the branch of philosophy that investigates the nature of the arts, creativity, beauty, and interpretation.
