ABSTRACT
After publishing important studies on Soren Kierkegaard and G.W.F. Hegel, Mark C. Taylor became one of the first Americans to introduce deconstruction into theology and religious studies. Reading Jacques Derrida's destabilizing approach to language as a "hermeneutic of the death of God," Taylor uses deconstruction to develop a theology of culture in a culture where God is dead.
