ABSTRACT

I first started to read Joyce in the trenches. I began with the serial publication of Ulysses in the Little Review, going on to Chamber Music, Exiles, and Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. Then I got Ulysses in one volume and have followed this up with Work in Progress in the pages of transition. I frequently dip into the pages of Joyce, always with pleasure, profit and an increase of understanding. I advise your correspondent to look up the copies of Everyman for May 15 and August 30, 1930.
