ABSTRACT
Bellew (1823-74), a clergyman, was converted to Roman Catholicism in 1868 and then devoted himself to writing on literary matters and giving public readings. In a manual for students he introduced a selection from Donne's verse with a brief account of the poet's life and writings (Poet's Corner. A Manualfor Students in English Poetry, 1868, p. 189).
