ABSTRACT
Dobrée (1891–1974) was Professor of English at the University of Leeds from 1936 until 1951. His publications include ‘The Lamp and the Lute’ (1929), ‘Modern Prose Style’ (1934) and ‘The Early Eighteenth Century’ (1959).
